You don’t have to be American, you don’t have to be from Cali, and you certainly don’t have to be a basketball fan to understand the impact that Kobe Bryant has had during his lifetime; even when it was tragically cut short this past Sunday. Five time NBA champ, three time Olympic gold medalist, and as impressive as it is, it doesn’t nearly began scratch the surface of all the many accolades Bryant accomplished. You can turn on the news and hear about what happened that horrific Sunday morning or turn on the ESPN to watch all his legendary sports highlights. So we wanted to find another way to highlight the “Black Mamba’s” precious time here with us, so in true style blog form we decided to do so through fashion and words we will remember him by. And while there were SO many to choose from these are just a FEW of our favorites.

Late 90’s-Early 00’s

GQ Chic

We cannot forget this incredibly smooth GQ cover and spread from March 2010. Or the many times he’s graced the chic men’s mag throughout his 20 year career. Bryant always seems to keep a bit more tight lipped during interviews allowing his private life to remain private and his work speak for itself. We’re here for all the GQ vibes.

Family Man Swag

One of the most memorable things about Kobe was how he loved his family. You didn’t have to know him personally to see it either. A father of four beautiful girls, Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri plus a husband of 19 years to Vanessa Bryant. Looks, charm, and style are all amazing but there’s nothing more fashionable than a man who will do anything for his family.

Suit Game on Fleek

It could be a walk on the red carpet, or a walk to the locker room pre-game, either way Kobe stayed fresh and current, yet still true to himself. Standing at a whole 6ft 6 tall, his height never compromised his style. Instead his athletic and statuesque build brought his looks to life. And as his game on the courts evolved, so did his style.

"Once you know what failure feels like, determination chases success." -Kobe Bryant
Whether it was his dedicated work ethic, his classic yellow and purple number 24 (or number 8) Lakers jersey, his endless list of achievements and contributions, or the undeniable love he had for his family, we can all take something away by the way Bryant lived his life. He will be missed by a community that extends far beyond national basketball.
We at IMperfect Apparel send nothing but love, light, and prayers to the Bryant family and all the families who lost loved ones along with those who have been affected this tragic event.  🙏💔
